We high schoolers know how to be creative. Karissa asked Ben last night. We got together at four after school and blew up 101 balloons and stuffed a note in each saying random facts like: turtles breathe out their butts, the actual playing time of a baseball game averages around 11 minutes, a group of unicorns is called a blessing, a duck's quack does not echo, and a scuba diver can't pass gas under 30 meters of water.
We put them in his room during his basketball game, and left a note that said start popping:)! The plan was to have Sheri, Ben's mom, bring in one helium balloon that had Karissa's number on it after he had popped all the other balloons, looking for the name of the girl asking him. It was clever, I know.
She got a text a few hours later.
(yes back words)
One down, two to go.
So tonight, I asked Joe, and Shelby asked Nick. Conveniently, they live in the same house. Shelby and I got together and created our masterpieces. Shelby's:
To ask Joe, I blew out the yolks in a dozen eggs and stuck notes in them spelling out gnimocemoh. Then, I created a pretty nifty poem and stuck it to the front.
After finishing, we hooked up with Karissa and headed down the street to the Buckley's. Our timing couldn't be more perfect. Nick had a basketball game in Sioux Falls and Joe was working two shifts. Faye, Nick's sister left the front door open for us.
Shelby went for Nick's wall.
I giggle at the height difference here. (love you, shelbs)
Here's Joe's.
Mission accomplished.
So then we waited.
and waited.
and danced.
and then, Nick sent Shelby a text saying, yes:).
(sorry no pic)
I was expected to be home by 10pm, since I have church tomorrow.
Stressing majorly, not knowing how he was going to respond, mainly because I didn't leave a number, and he doesn't have mine.
Eventually, it came.
ps. I don't know how he got my number, but oh well.
Stress is all gone, now time to look for something to wear.
